The ‘Social-Emotional Learning and Askable Adult Toolkit for Parents & School Paraprofessionals’ Project is housed in the Family and Youth Outreach Program at the Utah Department of Health.

Being or becoming an ‘Askable Adult’ includes creating a safe environment for youth to feel comfortable to ask any type of question. Data shows that supportive adults can have a profound impact in a young person and their behavior.

Our Goal

The goal of this project is to provide strategies through training that can help parents or guardians as well as school paraprofessionals and other school personnel become askable adults therefore supporting all youth around them.

The training efforts for this project are funded by the Utah State University Center for Persons with Disabilities Interagency Outreach Training Initiative
